The Chalkboard Series brings together processes of both children’s and adult’s self-discovery, by juxtaposing children’s drawings with psychological self-tests. Children’s drawings are story-telling pictures. They provide a personal worldview of their experiences. Children use their own set of symbols to represent their ideas. These symbols are not always based on observation. Psychological self-tests were developed to learn more about human behavior. Adults use them to evaluate personality traits. By combining these seemingly unrelated devices, I am exploring the evolution of discovering one’s personal truths.
